BONEY, Justice. This case arises out of the same assault which is the subject of the appeal in Berfield v. State, Alaska, 458 P.2d 1008.
Both Ransom and Berfield were convicted by a jury of assault with a dangerous weapon, i.e., their boots. Many of the issues
raised by Ransom on appeal have been disposed of by this court's opinion in Berfield; however, there is one issue which has
been raised by appellant Ransom which requires that the appeals be considered separately.
